Asst. Prof. S M Toufiq Abir is a distinguished certified Audiologist and Speech-Language Pathologist in Bangladesh, widely respected for his leadership in clinical audiology, higher education, and professional advocacy. With over a decade and a half of experience, he has significantly contributed to strengthening the country’s audiology and speech-language pathology infrastructure—both academically and clinically.
Leadership Roles :

Mr. Abir serves as a Director of Hearing & Speech Solutions Ltd. (HSS), one of Bangladesh’s leading hearing-care and rehabilitation organizations. In this strategic role, he guides clinical service development, quality standards, professional training, and cochlear implant rehabilitation programs.

He is also the Director (Academic) at the Advanced Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences (AIRS), Dhaka—an emerging platform committed to advanced rehabilitation sciences education and research.

Academic Career :

As an Assistant Professor of Audiology under the Faculty of Medicine, University of Dhaka (Department of Speech-Language Therapy, MCPHS), he plays a key role in training future audiologists and SLP professionals. His responsibilities include academic instruction, curriculum development, research supervision, and clinical skill-building.

His academic areas of expertise include :
